About Terry

Terry has a special place in her heart for those who have been wounded and broken by life’s circumstances.  She believes, as Hemingway once said, "the world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places." She loves being a small part of helping broken, wounded people become strong in those broken places.

As a counselor and life coach, she is passionate about encouraging people of all ages to recognize the possibilities ahead of them and to find freedom from the places they’ve been stuck.

She is a trained counselor of counselors (Global Trauma Recovery Institute Certification)  and has traveled to Ethiopia four times to lead life coaching/ counseling seminars with teenage girls and recently traveled with GTRI to Rwanda to partner with  local counselors, many of whom had experienced their own trauma during the Rwandan Genocide.

Terry is a part of an awesome church plant, Hopesprings Community of Faith, in Bangor, Pa, where she has served as the Community Development Director/ Lead Cultivator and one of her very favorite things in the world is dreaming God -sized dreams of making a difference locally and globally, one life at a time, with the most amazing people in the world.

She is currently dreaming with the good folks at Connections for Women/Bloom Bangor to bring some exciting new mischief to the Slate Belt.

Terry and her husband Walter have been married for 30 years. They have three grown kids: Melody, Jordan, and Justus, two dogs: Sam, the Golden-doodle, their foster pup, Snoop the Yorkie, and Mr. Andersen, the king of stray cats. And usually a few stray kids here and there…

They all live together on a farm in Mt Bethel, PA (except Melody who lives in Ethiopia).

Terry dreams about living in a foreign city, writing poetry in a corner café, and spending her weekends on a farm in Tuscany with Walter and the kids and whoever else stops by cooking Italian dishes with homegrown tomatoes and Parmesan cheese… a girl can dream can’t she?
